Quantitative Science Studies (QSS), the official journal of the International Society for Scientometrics and Informetrics (ISSI), is a gold open access journal. On January 14, the resignation of the editorial board of Journal of Informetrics (JOI) was announced. There were fundamental disagreements between the editorial board and Elsevier, the publisher of JOI, about ownership, open access, and open citations.
